Wearable Arts 2019

Wearable Arts 2019

This term we have our Wearable Arts. Wearable Arts is a activity our school does every 2 years for the seniors. (Year 7&8). We have this entire term to work on our costume. In the end of Week 10 we have the presentation of everyone's costumes, the person who is wearing the costume has to walk the cat walk in front of the audience (Public, Friends and Family). You get to pick the music you have when walking the cat walk. Once you have walked the cat walk and get the front stage the other 2 in your group talk about the costume you've made. Once everyone has walked the cat walk in there costumes you get marked on how well you did, if your Wearable Arts Booklet is up to date and how well you worked together and of course how amazing your costume looks!

I am very excited to see what our costume looks like at the end of the term as we have been and are working very hard to get it looking amazing. I am so proud of ALL of our efforts so far and think we're going to pull this off!

Jet Boating Hanmer Springs Brochure

Jet Boating Hanmer Springs:
Last week we went on Camp to Hanmer Springs. We did a bunch of really fun activities including Tree Climbing, Mountain biking, Swimming at the Thermal pools and much more. When we got back Miss Power told us to make a brochure about some place in Hanmer Springs. I decided to do Jet boating, we didn't go Jet Boating on camp but we did to a lot of other fun activities. Have you ever been Jet boating before? I haven't but I would like to do Jet boating and go Bungee Jumping!

Kahoot on Volume

Kahoot on VOLUME
This week our class have been focusing on a little bit of volume. I decided to make a Kahoot with some questions on volume. Make sure to have a go and tell me how many you got right. I had a lot of fun making this Kahoot and learning about Voloume.

Music with Miss Hines

Music with Miss Hines

For the past 3 weeks we have had a music session with Miss Hines every Tuesday afternoon. We learnt about 4 different notes and each week had to get in a group of 2 or 3 people and make a sound using the beats. Today we had to make 4 beats in a 4 beat slot, I worked with Bailee and we made a beat together. We decided to make ours on paper and then Miss Hines took a photo for us and sent it to us, we made ours very colourful and bright. I have had a lot of fun learning about the 4 music notes!

Today at assembly the Grey Main School Kapahaka group performed. We sang 3 songs and sang them at assembly after 2 practices. I think we did really well as we only had to practices and I am really excited for Festival and Family Fiesta.
