  1. Kia ora Katelynn,

I hope you have been enjoying your holidays so far. I can see you have been keeping on top of your blogging, I am looking forward to catching up on all your posts.

Thanks for sharing your 3 facts on the Williams sisters. A lot of professional athletes retire in their 30s, so it’s impressive that these two are still going strong.

I think that is a very good question you have asked. From my understanding, both sisters started playing Tennis when they were only 3 years old. Can you imagine what they would have been like? Their father encouraged them to play, and I guess they never stopped playing!

Can you think of anything your parents encouraged you to do when you were little?

Keep it up Katelynn, I will comment on more of your blog posts soon :)

  2. Kia Ora Beren,

I have been enjoying my holidays so far. My parents encouraged me to do a lot of things when I was younger. Like how to ride a bike with only 2 wheels, how to ride a 2 wheeler motorbike, how to tie my shoe lases and so much more. My parents encouraged me to play netball when I was around 7 or 8 and I am so grateful they did because I have been playing for about 5 years now and my team won our grade last year.

    1. Good morning Katelynn,

Oh wow, sounds like you have very supportive parents. Is it at all scary riding a motorbike?

I am glad you persevered with Netball! What position do you play? Sometimes our parents encourage us to try things we don't want to, but then end up loving in the end. For me, it was learning the Guitar. I was so nervous to start initially, but now I can play pretty well and it's one of my favourite hobbies.

    2. Kia Ora Beren,

It isn't scary riding a motorbike. You may be quite scared when you start but as you get older and have been riding for longer you don't think about falling off, you think about getting straight back on. In Netball I play wing attack, a bit of centre and a bit of goal attack. I would like to learn to play the Guitar.
