Summer Learning Journey ~ D4 ~ A2 ~ Playing Games

Koruru/Knuckle bones

~ What you will need ~

5 stones similar to the size of a 20c coin
Floor Space

~ How to play ~

Put the 5 stones in your palm

Through the up in the air and catch as many as you can on the top of your hand.

Then flip over the ones that landed on your hands and try and pick up the ones you dropped on the floor while flipping the over ones!

    I really like how you have written detailed instructions so that your readers know how to play the game! I also love how you have added in photos so the readers can understand as well!!!!!

    For my post I chose the poi rakau which looks like another fun traditional Maori game to play!
    Do you think they would have had nice rocks like that or 10c coins to use in the 1800s?

    Those are some great photos! Thank you for putting in that extra bit of effort into your blog posts :)

    I really love Koruru! My siblings and I used to get very competitive going through the different levels and then even switching to our left hand to go through all of them again...Do you play different levels too? I think we used to do things like under the bridge, thread the needle and jingles. (very strange names, I'm not sure who started them or if they known as the same thing all over New Zealand!)

    I also like that your items and instructions are very easy to follow. This is really great for other people that might read this post and haven't played knuckle bones before!
