• Change the colour lighter if the colour is darker, infected and dirty.
• Clean beehive frames. Dirty bee hive frames.
• Make sure the honey is a light yellow not a dark colour.
• Imperfections are heavier.
• Beeswax smells similar to honey.
• When honeycombs melt = Wax.
• Wax goes similar to a candle when it melts.
• Boil the water ready to melt the wax.
• When boiling put hot water in a pot with a bowl on top with the wax inside so it melts.
• One of the main things wax is made into is Candles
• In christchurch they have got ridden of some earthquake damaged houses and replaced them with flower gardens so bees can survive.
• You can not put beeswax down the sink because it will form a ring and pipe and pull it up.
• 45 minutes to an hour for it to set when it has been melted
• The black wax from when it was hard has stuck to the bottom of the bowl

Step 1 - Melt the wax in a bowl in a pot with hot water on the oven.

Step 2 - Once the wax is melted begin to pour it on the cheese cloth the perfection begins to go through the cheese cloth. The imperfection stays on top separating the wax through the cheese cloth.

Step 3 - Keep checking up on the beeswax, when it starts melting it should be a little darker then it was when it wasn’t melted.

Step 4 - Wrap the container in the cheesecloth. (Keeps all the imperfections on top) Make sure to cut it so it fits around the container, ready for the honey. The imperfection stays on top of the cheesecloth separating the waxes. When pouring in the bowl it will transfer through and separate the wax like I have said a few times

Step 5 - Separation of the imperfections. Some of the wax stays in the bowl. After you have poured the wax into the bowl wait for around 45 minutes to an hour for it to set.

How do they make honey?

To make the honey they come in and put the pollen/honey in the hexagons and then the bees come in and eat it and vomit is up and the repeat that until it is full. So basically we are eating vomit.

Normal Honey with no manuka - $3

Manuka Honey - $12

If want a beehive in your backyard you have to put your bee hive a certain way. Certain types of kitchens in you want to sell honey, 300 dollars for a bee hive.
