Should animals be kept in zoos: Argument Writing

What do you think, should animals be kept in zoos?

I strongly think animals should be kept in zoos because if they hurt themselves they have medical attention, they have food and water and they have protection from their prey. How does it make you feel that animals are lost in the forest running away from their prey without food? Read my argument and find out why I think animals should be kept in zoos.

Firstly, medical attention is always there. If they get stuck in a ditch, or break their leg they are almost instantly brought into a medical room and fixed. In your head is having medical attention at a zoo wrong or right? Zoo keepers always have a good idea of when animals are unwell and sick, so they are perfectly safe. I believe they should have medical attention as some animals will soon be extinct and if they have no medical they could die and there will be no more of that species.

Secondly, they get fed breakfast, lunch and dinner and maybe even some treats throughout the day if they do a trick or something good. In the wild they have to hunt for their meal and sometimes when they can’t catch anything they go days without food. How does that make you feel? That makes me feel devastated.

Thirdly, they have protection from their prey. In the wild animals get killed from their prey. That’s just like us getting killed by someone who doesn’t like us. That, to me, is not ok. Scientist’s say that 150 million animals are killed by their prey, around the world just for food so they can eat.

In conclusion, I believe animals should be kept in a zoo because they have protection from their prey, fresh food and water and they have medical attention. How would you feel getting lost in  the bush trying to run away from their prey, hurting themselves and not having any food to eat instead they're the prey food.
