  1. Kia Ora Katelynn,

My name is Rachel and I am working on the Summer Learning Journey blogging programme this year. It is wonderful to see that you have joined us and already posted so many activities over the break. Way to go!

I particularly enjoyed reading this post because you have given us (as readers) so many great ideas for things to see and do this summer. I have never been to Mistletoe Bay before but it sounds incredible. I will have to add it to my list of 'places to see in New Zealand.' When I was younger I came to New Zealand for a holiday with my family. We were living in Canada at the time and we came over for 6 weeks in July/August. The weather wasn't great so we weren't able to travel through most of the south island. Now that I live here I try to get down to the south island as much as possible from my home in Auckland. I love the south island!

I also love to bike so I will definitely try the 'On Yer Bike' stop. Do you enjoy biking? I was actually given a new bicycle for Christmas so I will have to get outside to try it out one day soon. For now, I am too busy with the Summer Learning Journey programme to go on a long bike trip. I think that I'll take a break this afternoon, though, and go for a little walk around the neighbourhood. We live in a lovely area in Auckland with lots of parks and forest walks. Do you enjoy spending time in the bush?

Hope that you have a great day and the chance to get outside to go walking or biking with Echo!

I'll look forward to reading more of your posts over the coming days!

    Bye for now,

    Rachel :)
